MedScan ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by WagmiTech. This privacy policy explains how your information is handled when you use MedScan.
MedScan collects only the data you explicitly enter into the app:
We do not collect your name, email address, location, device identifiers, or any other personal information. There is no account registration or login.
All data is stored exclusively on your device using a local SQLite database. No data is transmitted to our servers, to cloud storage, or to any third party. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all stored data.
MedScan requires camera access solely to photograph medicine packaging so that the on-device OCR (Optical Character Recognition) API can read the medicine name and expiry date. Photos are stored only on your device. No image or extracted text is sent to any external server.
Text recognition is performed entirely on your device using the platform's built-in ML Kit / OCR API. No image data or text leaves your device during this process.
MedScan does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, authentication, or cloud storage service. No data is shared with any third party.
With your permission, MedScan sends local push notifications to alert you when a medicine's expiry date is approaching. These notifications are generated entirely on-device and do not involve any external service.
You can delete any medicine record at any time within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device.
MedScan is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy without prior notice. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
